M&Ms Meeting on October 2
The M&M ladies will meet at 4:30 pm on Friday, October 2, in St Andrew’s Room. All the women of the church are invited. Bring an appetizer, soup or snack, and a friend.
Operation Christmas Child (OCC)
We are grateful to have Melissa Johnson leading our effort this year. We will be packing OCC shoeboxes on October 16, starting at 4:30 pm, in St. Andrew’s Room. It will be a festive packing party with a goal of 48 boxes. Items for the boxes will be due on Sunday, October 11. Please check the narthex for what items are needed. We also will need $10/box ($480) to cover the shipping and tracking of our boxes, so monetary donations are very helpful as well. Starting in October, OCC will be our mission of the quarter so you may start giving then. Until then, pick up a card from the narthex and start shopping.
Men’s Bible Study Next Week
Fr. Samuel has men’s Bible studies on flex Fridays on the Gospel of John. The men are now meeting at Casey’s again. Notes for these studies may be found in the narthex the Sunday before. The next meeting is on Friday, October 9, at 12 pm.
Evensong Service & Light Meal for IDOP
On Wednesday, October 14, at 5:00 pm we will be having an Evensong service and light meal for our community to honor those advanced in years. The International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) is celebrated for the whole month of October in our community. Jordan is organizing the service and Nancy Dragovich is coordinating the meal. Please contact her if you would like to assist in food preparation.
Diocesan Convention
Everyone is invited to attend the Diocesan Convention on October 29-30 at Trinity Anglican Church at 11300 Campus Park Drive in Bakersfield. Thursday includes a dinner and speaker with limited seating. The convention Eucharist service and business meeting is on Friday. There is a $40 cost for the dinner on Thursday and a $40 cost for Friday’s lunch and refreshments for the day. Please go to www.dioceseofsanjoaquin.net/convention to sign up. Vilma Garrett and Arnold Arnts will be our voting delegates along with Fr. Samuel.
Review of Diocesan Budget for Clergy & Delegates
There will be a review of the Diocesan budget on Sunday, October 11 at 1 pm on Zoom. Clergy and delegates should ask Fr. Samuel for the information if they have not received it.
