Operation Christmas Child (OCC)
We are grateful to have Melissa Johnson leading our effort this year. We will be packing OCC shoeboxes on October 16, starting at 4:30 pm, in St. Andrew’s Room. It will be a festive packing party with a goal of 48 boxes. Items for the boxes will be due on Sunday, October 11. Please check the narthex for what items are needed. We also will need $10/box ($480) to cover the shipping and tracking of our boxes, so monetary donations are very helpful as well. Starting in October, OCC will be our mission of the quarter so you may start giving then. Until then, pick up a card from the narthex and start shopping.
Hymn Sing
There will be a hymn sing in the sanctuary this Thursday, September 24, at 6:30 pm. Come join us for an uplifting time praising the Lord as we go through the Gray Book with Jordan leading.
Veterans Stand Down
The Veterans Stand Down will be this Friday, September 25, at the Kerr McGee Center from 9 am to 1 pm. Christ the King Anglican Church will have a table there with information about our church. If you would like to assist, please contact Fr. Samuel.
Potluck Brunch and Teaching on the Anglican Rosary
This Saturday, September 26, at 11 am, there will be a potluck brunch in St. Andrew’s Room. Please bring a breakfast or lunch item to share. At 12 pm, we will meet in the sanctuary where Deacon Leslie Arbegast will be teaching us how to pray to God more effectively using the Anglican Rosary. The teaching will conclude by 2 pm and each person attending will receive a rosary.
No Men’s Bible Study This Week
Fr. Samuel has men’s Bible studies on flex Fridays on the Gospel of John. The men are now meeting at Casey’s again. Notes for these studies may be found in the narthex the Sunday before. Because of the Veterans Stand Down, there will not be a meeting this Friday. The next meeting is on Friday, October 9, at 12 pm.
M&Ms Meeting on October 2
The M&M ladies will meet at 4:30 pm on Friday, October 2, in St Andrew’s Room. All the women of the church are invited. Bring an appetizer, soup or snack, and a friend.
