To Be a Christian Class
Fr. Samuel will be starting a 10 week class called To Be A Christian, which is an Anglican Catechism. It will be at 3 pm on Tuesdays in his office. It starts this week (7/28). Please call the office or speak with Fr. Samuel if you would like to join. This is a required class for those who would like to join the church.
Sierra Sands Unified School District Party in the Parking Lot
Christ the King Anglican Church will be having a table at the SSUSD Party in the Parking Lot at 1305 N. Norma (next to the old Albertson’s) this Thursday, July 30, from 6-8 pm. We will have information available about our church and will be handing out crafts for the children and pens with our church’s name, address, phone number, and website on them. Please speak to Fr. Samuel if you would like to help out.
Ice Cream Social
We will be having an Ice Cream Party on Friday, August 7, from 6-8 pm in St. Andrew’s Room. In the parking lot, there will be a pool with a slide for the kids and a small pool for the little ones. Come and enjoy and use the enclosed flyer to invite an unchurched friend. More copies are available in the narthex.
Sunday Prayer Time
We will be pausing our 15-minute prayer time in the sanctuary before the service. If you feel led to be in intercessory prayer for the church shortly before the service, please speak to Fr. Samuel. He would like you to join him in his office.
Intermittent Office Hours This Week
The office will be closed on Monday and Thursday and there will be intermittent office hours on Tuesday and Wednesday while Melody is on vacation, July 27-30.
Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies—Men Change Time & Location
Fr. Samuel has men’s and women’s Bible studies on alternate Fridays on the Gospel of John. The men will now be meeting in St. Andrew’s room at 10 am on flex Fridays and the women meet in St. Andrew’s Room at 1 pm on non-flex Fridays. Notes for these studies may be found in the narthex the Sunday before. The next meeting is for the men on Friday, July 31.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers Needed
We still could use an additional person to help serve during Sunday services. We will teach you what you need to do and you may serve monthly, or quarterly on the fifth Sunday. Please contact Fr. Samuel or Phyllis Stewart if you would like to do this.
