Men’s & Women’s Bible Studies
Fr. Samuel has men’s and women’s Bible studies on alternate Fridays on the Gospel of John. The men meet at Casey’s at 12 pm on flex Fridays and the women meet in St. Andrew’s Room at 1 pm on non-flex Fridays. Notes for these studies may be found in the narthex the Sunday before. The next meeting is for the women on Friday, October 31.
Mission of the Fourth Quarter
The Mission of the Fourth Quarter is Samaritan's Purse which does Operation Christmas Child (OCC). We will be using the money collected to pay for the shipping and tracking of the boxes we fill. It costs $10/box. We did 62 boxes last year and they went to the Philippines and Mongolia. We plan to do about 60 again this year. That means we will need about $600. Any extra funds will be sent to Samaritan’s Purse for their other ministries.
Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
Jo Stauffer is once again leading the Shoebox effort. Please contact her if you have any questions. On November 1 at 10 am in St. Andrew’s Room, we will be packing the 2-4 year old boxes. We will then have a soup lunch and start packing the 5-9 year old boxes around 1 pm. On November 8 at 1 pm, we will pack the 10-14 year old boxes.
First Birthday Party for John Makuach
Please join Fr. Samuel and his family at their home at at 3 pm on Sunday, November 2, for a birthday celebration for his youngest, John.
Instructed Eucharist on November 9
Have you ever wondered why we do what we do during our service? Have you wanted to invite a friend but thought they wouldn’t understand our service? Come and invite your family and friends on Sunday, November 9, at 10 am. Fr. Samuel will provide some explanation which will help the service to be more meaningful for all.
VBS on November 14 & 15
Be sure to tell all the K5-5th grade children (& their parents) that you know that there will be Vacation Bible School on Friday & Saturday, November 14 & 15, from 5:30-7:30 pm at CTK. Space is limited to 20 children so they will want to sign up early, starting Nov. 2.
