Dinner for Sailors on Base

Our next dinner on base will be on Wednesday, November 11, Veterans Day, from 4 - 8 pm. Today after the service, there will be a meeting in Fr. Samuel’s office to plan the menu and give feedback.

Thanksgiving Food Baskets

The Salvation Army will be providing us with two families to bless with food this Thanksgiving and Christmas. When you go shopping, please pick up some specific items so a needy family may have a good holiday meal. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex.

Men’s Bible Study This Week

Fr. Samuel has men’s Bible studies on flex Fridays on the Gospel of John. The men are now meeting at Casey’s again. Notes for these studies may be found in the narthex the Sunday before. The next meeting is Friday, November 6, at 12 pm.

Second Tuesday of the Month Lunch Group

This fellowship group will meet Tuesday, November 10, at 1 pm in Casey’s Red Room. It is Taco Tuesday. All are welcome.

Hymn Sing

There will a Hymn Sing on Thursday, November 12, at 6:30 pm, in the sanctuary.

The Power of ONE Word Retreat

On Saturday, November 14, there will be a retreat for men and women in St. Andrew’s Room from 9 am to 3 pm. Deacon Judy will be leading this retreat. Please bring a sack lunch, and a treat to share if you would like.

Stewardship

Please be praying about what you will give in the coming year. You will receive your pledge cards next Sunday. Plan to return them on November 22, Christ the King Sunday. Also, consider giving an extra donation before the end of the year to cover church expenses. We are currently spending more than we have been given.

Mission of the 4th Quarter

Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, is our mission of the fourth quarter. Thank you for all who gave. We have surpassed our goal of $480 to pay for the shipping! Extra funds will be available to buy items on sale during the year so we can be better prepared for next year. We packed 48 boxes on October 16. Thank you, Melissa Johnson, for doing a great job organizing this ministry, and thank you to everyone who gave, donated items, and helped to pack the boxes.
