Operation Christmas Child (OCC)
We are grateful to have Melissa Johnson leading our effort this year. We will be packing OCC shoeboxes on October 16, starting at 4:30 pm, in St. Andrew’s Room. It will be a festive packing party with a goal of 48 boxes. Items for the boxes will be due on Sunday, October 11. Please check the narthex for what items are needed. We also will need $10/box ($480) to cover the shipping and tracking of our boxes, so monetary donations are very helpful as well. Starting in October, OCC will be our mission of the quarter so you may start giving then. Until then, pick up a card from the narthex and start shopping.
Hymn Sing
There will be a hymn sing in the sanctuary on Thursday, September 24, at 6:30 pm. Come join us for an uplifting time praising the Lord as we go through the Gray Book with Jordan leading.
Veteran’s Stand Down
The Veteran’s Stand Down will be on Friday, September 25, at the Kerr McGee Center from 9 am to 1 pm. Christ the King Anglican Church will have at table there with information about our church. If you would like to assist, please contact Fr. Samuel.
Potluck Brunch and Teaching on the Anglican Rosary
On Saturday, September 26, at 11 am, there will be a potluck brunch in St. Andrew’s Room. Please bring a breakfast or lunch item to share. At 12 pm, we will meet in the sanctuary where Deacon Leslie Arbegast will be teaching us how to pray to God more effectively using the Anglican Rosary. The teaching will conclude by 2 pm and each person attending will receive a rosary.
No Men’s Bible Study Next Week
Fr. Samuel has men’s Bible studies on flex Fridays on the Gospel of John. The men are now meeting in St. Andrew’s room. Notes for these studies may be found in the narthex the Sunday before. Because of the Veteran’s Stand Down, there will not be a meeting next Friday. The next meeting is on Friday, October 9, at 12 pm.
Join Us for Coffee Hour
We would love for you to join us for fellowship and goodies after church on Sundays in St. Andrew’s Room. If you would like to bring something for coffee hour, there is a signup sheet on one of the refrigerators in the kitchen.
